Princess 03:42
PRINCESS (It was all a lie) It was not my first time I was looking for a sign I think I located a mine I went for the entire pie She said she’d walk with me another mile We were only about knee high It wasn’t really hard to climb The whole thing only cost a dime I thought about my how it wasn’t right And how the sucker-punch feels the next night I never stick around to hear their cries I only got what I needed that night It’s so much harder when they’re awful kind Sincerity from hearts to mine Paying back with a deceitful smile And a couple of clever lines She’s worth much more than all of this (Sometimes you’ve got to guard your heart) She doesn’t know why she exists (Sometimes you’ve got to search your heart) Oh God, I hope that she’s alright (She’s living with a broken heart) Her worth is more than she can know (I pray that she will not lose hope) (Several years have past) And now I have one of my own And she is almost grown She’s always talking on the phone And making eyes as she wiggles her toes I found a letter from a boy last night It said that she was looking really fine And then he asked “hey, would you be mine?” He seemed like a guy I used to be like He said I heard about a place we can go where no one will ever know She said “I know of a place you can go” She said “There’s room at the back of the line” As she walked away she felt fine That kind of guy is such a waste of time This kind of girl is hard to find It’s unbelievable that she could be mine

I went walking around after the lights went out I caught God up to speed in all that I thought He’d missed I had a thought that went through me, but it vanished as fast as it came but I reached out, and caught it by the tail I’ve been questioning God as long as I’ve known how to sing Now I’m up to speed in all that I think I know The Spirit of God, He went through me, but I tried to run away but He reached out, and caught me by the tail This wind, I can feel it, feel it on the inside Take root, I want it! I’m ready for it! Let us usher in Shalom Bring Peace into this place This world is not my home This planet is not my resting place I think that we were made to make things right I think that we were saved to join the fight I think the night is frightened of the light What if we are standing in the way?

Run Forever 02:52
RUN FOREVER Jason Slajchert, 2010 [V.1] We’re pounding eyes like they’re nine And they’re playing nice like they’re twenty-five It’s rather shrewd to be kind only to twist words into a vine I’m reaching out cause I’m fine I left my name far behind I wonder what happens when we die Can we sneak past to the front of the line [PRE-CHORUS] I’m going to run forever Cause I am afraid of honesty We think we’re important so we can’t escape our false security (so we buy into superiority) [CHORUS] We’re trying to figure out who on Earth we are And we’re not waking up, we’re not waking up clued in We’re trying to figure out how we’ve come this far But, we are holding back We are holding back from the people we should be [V.2] We’re hooking up like we’re slime I’m treating her like she cost a dime She only with me to grind I’m only trying to remain blind What if one day just in time My prayers were answered, but w/ a knife that cut me straight to my spine Finding a place that’s never seen light

You are the worst candidate anyone could’ve ever imagined
Far from the latest fashion, who would’ve guessed that this could’ve happened The wise now celebrate their foolishness!
The blind now have eyes that can see! You are the best solution that anyone could’ve ever imagined Far from the latest fashion, you’re alive with the thundering caption:
The lame are running down the street!
The bound are finding that they’re free! O-o-oh,
I want you here with me I want you here with me I was the worst candidate anyone could’ve ever imagined Fitting with the latest fashion, I was surprised to see everyone laughing My pride was dripping to my feet
 The price was finally complete

Isn't it nice I can see myself in your eyes I was so lost without sight Isn't nice you can see that I had not died My hands aren't quite as cold any longer My whole body's getting warmer Married into money I know that they don't love me Wanting to be wanted I thought that you couldn't love me I found out that sex cannot replace all the missing parts that have been erased You pursued me with your fire eyes then you cut me down to size You will never let go of me I will never let go of You

I am not known for my philanthropy I’m rather into my own business But there’s a ringing in my ears It’s the voice of humanity They are calling out No one is alright They’re still in the fight Don’t turn out the light I’m in the way Let’s get out of the way Let’s start today What do you say

about

This was my second record. These tracks remind me of where I was on my journey back then, prior to what I have ever since called "my awakening experience"which began in 2011. I was obsessed with redeeming the message of Jesus and His Way, deeply immersed in studying the early Christian Church, and was hosting an organic "house church" in our living room. I had no idea what I was about to discover. These songs have a kind of Keith Greenesque fire that, if I'm honest, I will always kind of miss.
